The Geographical Survey of Tanzania (GST) launched a conference on INAUGURATION OF HIGH RESOLUTION AIRBORNE GEOPHYSICAL DATA. The Conference was held at Mwalimu Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre on Friday 17/01/2014. It was attended by government ministries, education institutions, mining consultants, exploration companies and International organisations. Welcoming remarks were presented by the Personal Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM) and the project overview was presented by Prof. A.H. Mruma (the Chief Executive Officer of GST). The meeting provided an opportunity for information exchange regarding the research developments from the airborne Geophysical survey.
The presenters were:

  • Dr. Malcom Moreton from GEOTECH Company: Brief outline of the Airborne Geophysical Survey.
  • Dr. Martin Bates from SGL: Magnetic, Radiometric and Gravity data
  • Alex Prikhodko from GEOTECH: VTEM data
  • Dr. David Beamish: Data Quality Control.
