MTL Consulting Company Ltd (MTL or MTL Consulting) was incorporated in Tanzania in June 1998 and is wholly owned and managed by Tanzanians. The company’s principal objective is to provide consulting services in the areas of mining, environmental and social management, geology and mineral exploration, mineral rights management and training.

The company draws its strength from the knowledge and experience accumulated for over a decade of practical consulting experience in Tanzania and Africa in general and knowledge and experience from its key personnel who have many years experience in the public and private sectors both locally and internationally.

It is managed by a board of directors composed of professionals with wide experience in geology and mineral exploration, mineral rights management and environmental and social management both locally and internationally.

Day to day activities of the company are carried out by a core team of full time and associate experts in geology, mineral exploration, mineral rights, mining engineering, mineral processing, environmental and social management.

For the past ten years, MTL successfully completed projects in various countries in Africa, including Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe and Sudan; for Governments, international organizations, including EU, World Bank,NDF, CDE, UNIDO, EITI and for local and international corporate companies.

MTL Consulting is a registered Tanzanian consulting firm with the Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania (ERB)  and the National Environmental Management Council of Tanzania (NEMC) for conducting EIA and Environmental Audits.

Our key members of staff are registered with several national and international professional bodies.
